    Yours…

Published by Aundre | Filed under

10 I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Life, is a word that I think no one can define, without tackling the big question, what is the meaning of it. But, why are we so scared ?
    When we were children,
We had this insatiable yearning to explore.
This want for knowledge, truth, to uncover what life is itself is
We watch shows like Scooby Doo about Solving Mysteries
It catches our eyes, and before we are old enough to realize it, life captures our hearts.
As we slowly unfold the mysteries life seem to hide.
There is a movie out called, Dickie Roberts, its a movie about Dickie(David Spade) Who was a child star, and because of this missed out on his childhood.
So then we reach the age of pre-teenhood. Where we are so quick to shed our innocence, to attempt new fads and styles, and leave purity in the shadows, all in the name of being cool.
After childhood stardom, Dickies life began to spiral down to  being beyond pathetic, his girlfriend leaves him, he is beat up by a gangster midget hybrid thing and he is so broken. Just yearning for something..
When we were born, no one had to teach us how to breathe
Yet we see, we seem to be suffocating.
During a game of cards, Dickie talks to the rest of his friends about all the things they missed about stardom. Once everyone else finished harping about the limos, the girls, and the milkshakes. Dickie looked up and said”I just miss the love”
    Teenage years!
referred to as the very best years of our lives,
    The years we become self-aware.
We begin to search for ourselves,
For me thats become a search for a New Way To Be Human.
    We search high and low.
Run fast and slow just to check every crevice we can for a song, an activity something at all that can help us self-define.
So after alot of scheming, Dickie lands an interview.
To the movie, that will bring his career back.
    His big break!
    Throught our teen years,
We trip and we fall hard
    For drugs
    For love
For just about anything that can fulfill us.for the moment.
When Dickie goes to audition for the acting part,
Director Rob Reiner jokes with him for a bit,
    And finally tells Dickie that,
“I don’t feel like you are ready for this part, because you aren’t a real person”
    What I dont understand is,
From the second we leave our mothers womb,
Our joy slowly seems to dwindle away exponentiallly
Its almost like we are born with chips on our shoulders.
In shock Dickie asks him exactly what he means by his piercing statement, hes not a real person!
and Mr. Reiner simply responds “Youve had no childhood, your a messed up person who has no remeberance of the innocence of being a child”
    Somehow, as we grow older
The the more this world breaks us in,
The more our hearts get used to
the pain, the letdowns, the death.
And we simply become apathetic to it.
So Dickie, distraught about not being able to get this part, he becomes completely irrational and offers families money to help him relive his childhood.
Soon, one family takes him in, An All American Family of a boy and a girl, Sam, Sally and a stay at home mom.At first, they are very apathetic to Dickies problems, but overtime begin to help him chip away the huge weight he has on his heart, from teaching him how to play with toys to finally getting him to remove his gloves. The love of this family just seems to quickly destroy his false maturity.
    Once we become apathetic,
That is where the danger lies,
    we slowly allow our hearts
to slip away from being alive.
Soon its 3/4 of the way through the movie,  and Dickie is a morphed person, his structure is rebuilt on the true innocence and joy of life. And becoming a real person, his old life (girlfriend and all) beckon for him to return.
    We lay face down almost
    Drowning in our own sorrows
    This is your life
Our dead hearts just die in our chests leaving us
    to pump our own blood.
As the movie progresses Dickie finally breaks free from his phantoms and chains. And reaches a true person. With the help of love.

    These are their lives:

“This life is about loving unconditionally, for in my short stay on this earth I’ve found that those who live to love, love to live.  As cliche as it may sound, nothing worth having was ever attained without some sort of struggle or fight, and one must learn to never give up, but rather to learn to let go.  Along the same strain, never take ANYTHING for granted, and learn from life’s downs as often as you take pleasure in it’s ups. =]” – Becca

“We are only asked to love, to offer hope to the many hopeless. We don’t get to choose all the endings, but we are asked to play the rescuers. We won’t solve all mysteries and our hearts will certainly break in such a vulnerable life, but it is the best way”.- Daniel Barb

“Life is about being in rhythm with God. Sometimes we go off and play other songs that we shouldn’t, but God always brings us back to His sweet melody. And in the end, when our song seemingly ends, we go to be with God and are bathed in his righteous and holy symphony forever”.- Lex

“First and foremost, i believe that truth is NOT relative–it is absolute; when people tell me, “that may be good for you, but it’s not my thing,” (concerning how i live my life) i think they’re wrong. everybody is on earth to live his or her life for the Lord–serving Him, loving Him, worshipping Him, et cetera. our practices can be different: there isn’t one denomination or group or person that we need to be exactly like, but we all must follow the absolute truth found in God’s word with the right intentions and a pure heart”. – Hillary

With all this beauty why are we sad?
Why do we constantly draw or shovels and swords.
To dig deeper in everything just to find,
    Innocence?
    Hope?
    Truth?
Or to slay all our own heart,
Maybe when we cut deep we can find what makes us think.
    What makes us breathe.
    What fills our blood!
In, the end Dickies story finishes almost the most cliche way, the hope and inncocence that he finds within his new family allows him to become a “real person”
    To regain his joy.
And with that a future just over the sunrise.
Every morning we wake up, its a fight against only ourselves to be alive
We are the ones who choose to breathe,
We are the ones who decide our own Progress,
We are the face that breaks ourself down.
But how about we take back what is ours,
    Oh! this masquerade
    This fake parade
We alone can fix our moments.
5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.*6 And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”7 Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir.
Life is more than you are.
