Happy New Year!

Here is a conversation I had tonight with my friend Ashley:

Ashley: do you think of a new year as like a new record or anything?i guess thats how i think of it , and i feel like i messed it up within hours.

me:there is this quote from the lead singer of switchfoot that says: redemption is a collection of bittersweet stories.and like, i do see the new year as an opportunity to do some things a different way, but I know that being me, I will make a mess of myself or whatever, and thats the bitter part, I am praying to God that I see the sweet as I dust myself off and try to make the changes I decided on for the year.its[the new year is]a new opportunity to do what I was always capable of.that’s how i see it.
